Jets vs Blues Prediction

The Winnipeg Jets head to St Louis for Game 6 holding a 3-2 lead in the first-round series with the Blues. The Jets took Game 5 at home with a solid 5-3 win, bouncing back after two straight losses in St Louis. The Blues will try to force a Game 7 after splitting the last four matchups, including a dominant 7-2 win in Game 3. Winnipeg comes in at 56-22-4, while St Louis sits at 44-30-8. Hit the ice running with our NHL picks.

The Jets showed toughness in Game 5 behind a strong offensive effort that saw five different players score. Connor Hellebuyck continues to be a rock between the pipes, stopping 30 shots in that win. Before that, though, Winnipeg had issues on the road, giving up 12 goals across Games 3 and 4. Mark Scheifele remains day-to-day while Nikolaj Ehlers is ruled out, slightly weakening Winnipeg’s attack.

Defensively, Winnipeg has been better all year. They allow just 2.32 goals per game and hold opponents to 27.2 shots. Hellebuyck has been elite this season with a .925 save percentage and 2.01 GAA, with 47 wins and 8 shutouts. The Jets’ special teams are clicking too—they own a 28.9% power play and a respectable 79.4% penalty kill. Kyle Connor leads the team in scoring with 97 points, including 41 goals and 56 assists, and has been instrumental in this series.

St Louis needs to regroup after Game 5, where the defense let the game slip in the second period. Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas will be leaned on again; Kyrou scored in Game 5 and Thomas remains a playmaker with 60 assists this year. The Blues are 24-14-3 at home and will count on that advantage to push the series the distance.

The defense has been inconsistent. They’ve allowed 2.82 goals per game and have a weak 74.3% penalty kill. Jordan Binnington has been shaky with a .900 save percentage and 2.69 GAA, but Joel Hofer could see ice time after Binnington gave up five goals last outing. Injuries to Tyler Tucker and Dylan Holloway don’t help the depth situation. The offense averages 3.05 goals but will need more to keep up with Winnipeg’s pace.

Jets vs Blues Pick Analysis

Winnipeg has been the more complete team throughout the series and statistically holds the edge in nearly every category. Hellebuyck’s goaltending has been game-changing, while Kyle Connor’s offensive production keeps St Louis on its heels. The Jets also boast a more dangerous power play and a tighter penalty kill. St Louis will battle at home, but Winnipeg’s defensive edge and experience should close this out. Final Score Prediction: Winnipeg Jets win 4-2.
