Canucks vs Stars Prediction

Vancouver and Dallas square off Tuesday night in a Western Conference clash at American Airlines Center. The Canucks are coming off a tough 3-2 home loss to Vegas and sit at 35-29-13. Meanwhile, the Stars, who lead the season series 2-0, dropped an overtime heartbreaker 3-2 to Minnesota and stand at 50-22-5. Puck drops at 6:00 PM ET. Hit the ice running with our NHL picks.

Vancouver’s recent form hasn’t inspired much confidence. The Canucks have lost four of the last five, including a shutout loss to Seattle and a shootout collapse against Columbus. The only bright spot was a 6-2 win over Anaheim. Quinn Hughes continues to drive the offense with 72 points, including 56 assists, while Brock Boeser leads in goals with 25. Vancouver will be without Filip Chytil and could miss Elias Pettersson, Nils Aman, and Tyler Myers—all listed as day-to-day, potentially weakening the lineup at both ends.

Defensively, the Canucks are struggling. They allow 3.08 goals per game and are coming off multiple games where they gave up 3+ goals. Goaltending hasn’t helped—Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen have save percentages below .900. Despite that, Vancouver’s penalty kill remains solid at 83.4% and the power play connects at a respectable 22.6%. But with just 25.5 shots per game, generating sustained pressure could be a problem in Dallas.

Dallas comes in with the second-best record in the Central and has already beaten Vancouver twice this year. Although they’ve dropped two straight, the Stars were red hot before that, winning three straight and scoring 13 goals in that stretch. Matt Duchene leads the offense with 79 points, and Jason Robertson has netted 34 goals. Even with Tyler Seguin, Miro Heiskanen, and Nils Lundkvist on IR, this team is loaded with depth.

The Stars' defense is rock solid. They give up just 2.55 goals per game and have the better goaltending duo—Jake Oettinger (2.46 GAA, .912 SV%) and Casey DeSmith (.921 SV%). The penalty kill sits at 84.4%, and they have a slight edge on the power play at 22%. Dallas also controls pace with 28.4 shots per game and only 533 penalty minutes on the season, showing discipline and structure all over the ice.

Canucks vs Stars Pick Analysis

The Stars own this season series and come in with more offensive weapons, better goaltending, and a much stingier defense. Vancouver has issues staying consistent, especially on the road, and missing key guys like Pettersson could swing things even more. Dallas takes care of business at home behind another strong showing from Oettinger. Final Score Prediction: Dallas Stars win 4-2.
