Canucks vs Blackhawks Picks and Prediction – 10/23/2024

The Vancouver Canucks will be on the road again Tuesday night with a game a Chicago against the Blackhawks. Vancouver has been mediocre to start the year with a 2-1-2 the record overall riding a 2 game win streak following a three goal victory against Philadelphia. Offensively Vancouver has been mediocre this season averaging 2.8 goals on 28.4 shots. Defensively the Canucks have been exactly like their offense allowing 2.8 goals per game on 27.6 shots but have given up two total goals in their last two victories. Kevin Lankinen led the way for the Vancouver defense stopping all 26 shots against resulting in the shutout victory. Vancouver got a balanced scoring attack as three different players found the net to score one goal leads. To go along with the goal scoring Vancouver had five other players chip in with at least one assist of peace.

The Chicago Blackhawks day on their home ice Tuesday 2-3-1 on the year having lost three of the last five following the two goal loss to Buffalo in their last outing. Offensively Chicago is one of the worst teams in the league averaging just 2.5 goals on 28 shots per game. Defensively Chicago has had issues as well allowing three goals on 28.5 shots per game after giving up four goals against Buffalo last time out.

Arvid Soderblom struggled in the net from Chicago last game without giving up three goals on 21 shots to boast a .857 save percentage in just over 58 minutes before Buffalo found the empty net as well. Craig Smith led the way for the Chicago offense with two goals on five shots in less than 10 minutes on the ice. Lukas Reichel chipped in with two assists, while  two other Chicago players added one assist each.

The Canucks have had issues to start the year but are the better team in this game. Take Vancouver to do the work on both sides of the ice leading to the win. Vancouver is the better overall team and it will show Tuesday. Final Score Prediction, Vancouver Canucks win 4-1.
