Maple Leafs vs Bruins Picks and Prediction – 4/22/2024

The Toronto Maple Leafs remain in Boston Monday for game two of their first round matchup against the Boston Bruins. Toronto finished the regular season with 46 wins overall but have dropped five straight games including a four goal blowout loss in game one of this set. Ilya Samsonov struggled immensely in the net for Toronto in game one giving up four goals on 23 shots to boast a .826 save percentage in just under 59 minutes before Boston found the empty net as well. David Kampf scored the lone goal of the game for Toronto common while two other Maple Leafs players pumped in one assist each.

The Boston Bruins will again be at home Monday following their blowout win in game one of this series. Boston won 47 total games this season in large part due to their defense. The Bruins defense allowed just 2.7 goals on less than 31 shots per game and gave up just one in game one of this series. Offensively Boston was mediocre scoring just over three goals per game but pumped in five in game one of the playoffs.

Jake DeBrusk led the way for the Boston offense in game one with two goals and one assist in nearly 18 minutes on the ice. Boston got a balanced scoring attack as well as three other players pumped in one goal each. Charlie McAvoy and Brad Marchand came up big with two assists apiece.
