Kraken vs Oilers Prediction

Seattle comes into Edmonton after getting blanked 4-0 by Minnesota, dropping to 30-35-5 on the season and 14-20 on the road. The Kraken are just 2-3 in the last five games but have shown some spark, including a 6-2 win over Chicago and a tight OT loss to Winnipeg. Edmonton sits at 40-24-5 and lost a heartbreaker to Winnipeg 4-3 in OT, but the Oilers are 4-1 in the last five and have already beaten Seattle twice this season. Hit the ice running with our NHL picks.

The Kraken have struggled to find consistency all year and continue to slide in the Pacific standings. Offensively, Seattle averages 2.97 goals per game and just 27.3 shots, showing limited firepower. Eeli Tolvanen leads with 21 goals while Chandler Stephenson tops the team with 48 points. The power play is underwhelming at 18.6%, and they're giving up 3.20 goals per game. Joey Daccord has been decent with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.

Defensively, Seattle has issues killing penalties, sitting at 77.1%, and they allow 28.5 shots per game. Penalty minutes are also a concern with 453 on the year. The Kraken haven’t matched up well with Edmonton this season, losing both games 4-2, and Stephenson is questionable for this one. If he’s out, that weakens an already thin top-six.

Edmonton, meanwhile, continues to climb in the Pacific. The Oilers rank third in the NHL with a 25.3% power play and are averaging 3.25 goals per game. Leon Draisaitl leads with 49 goals and 101 points but is listed as out. Connor McDavid, who leads with 64 assists, is also day-to-day. Still, Edmonton has shown depth with a recent 7-1 thumping of Utah and a 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Defensively, the Oilers are giving up just 2.87 goals per game and lead Seattle in every major team stat. Stuart Skinner has a 2.85 GAA and .896 SV%, and while he’s day-to-day, Calvin Pickard’s 2.63 GAA and .901 SV% give them a solid backup option. The penalty kill is slightly better than Seattle at 77.5%.

Kraken vs Oilers Pick Analysis

Even with some key names potentially out, Edmonton has better depth, better special teams, and more scoring across the board. Seattle is 1-5 in its last six road games and has lost both prior meetings by two goals. The Oilers control puck possession, fire more shots, and convert more often on the man advantage. Final Score Prediction: Edmonton Oilers win and cover 4-2.
