Panthers vs Lightning Picks and Prediction – 10/3/2023

Florida is playing well through the preseason with three wins in their first four games following a two goal win over Carolina in their last outing. Anthony Stolarz led the way for the Florida defense posting a .933 save percentage after allowing just two goals on thirty shots in the game.

Offensively Florida has been stellar in the preseason averaging 3.75 goals per game, while the defense has been fantastic as well allowing just 1.25 goals through four games played. Gerry Mayhew led the way for the Florida offense in their last game with one goal and one assist on five shots in just over 14.5 minutes on the ice. Lucas Carlsson, Steven Lorentz, and Mackie Samoskevich all chipped in for Florida pumping in one goal each.

The Tampa Bay Lightning stay at home Tuesday night with three wins in the preseason currently riding a three-game win streak following a one goal win against Nashville on Saturday. Tampa Bay was the better team against Nashville with 27 shots on goal and the Lightning 128 face offs. Defensively Tampa Bay had a few issues allowing 47 shots, but 16 blocked shots and 10 takeaways assisted in the win.

Matt Tomkins carried the load for Tampa Bay in the net posting a .915 save percentage after allowing just four goals on 47 shots in the game. Waltteri Merela led the way for the Tampa Bay offense with two goals and one assist in just over 13 minutes on the ice. Nikita Kucherov added one goal, while seven other Tampa Bay players scored a goal or recorded an assist.
