Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers Prediction

The Dallas Stars visit Rogers Place, north of the border on Monday to play the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals best of seven series. The opening face off is scheduled for 8:30 PM ET and will be televised on TNT. The series is level at 1-1 after Dallas defeated Edmonton 3-1 on Saturday night in Game 2. Dallas Stars Preview

Dallas bounced back from a loss in Game 1 on its home ice with a solid 3-1 victory in Game 2 on Saturday. Mason Marchment scored for Dallas early in the third period to break a tie and the Stars added an empty net goal late to win by two. Jake Oettinter made 28 saves in goal for the Stars. 

Dallas won the Central division during the regular season with a record of 52-21-9 and 113 points. Dallas is seventh in goals for in the playoffs at 2.87 per game, through 15 games. Dallas is taking an average of 28.7 shots per game and the power play is scoring 24.3% of the time. Wyatt Johnston has seven goals to lead Dallas in the playoffs and Miro Heiskanen and Tyler Seguin are second with five each. Jason Robertson has 10 assists to lead the Stars. Heiskanen is the leader in points with 14. 

Dallas is fourth in goals against average during the playoffs at 2.33 per game. In the regular season, Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger was 35-14-4 with a goals against average of 2.72 and save percentage of .905. Edmonton Oilers Preview

Edmonton must bounce back with a victory on its home ice Monday to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner stopped 22 of 24 shots faced in goal but the Oilers managed just one goal by Connor Brown in the first period, against a Stars’ very tough blue line and goalie. 

During the regular season, Edmonton was 49-27-6, finishing with 104 points, which was second in the Pacific Division. Edmonton is second in the NHL during the playoffs in goals for with an average of 3.57 per game and has taken an average of 30.4 shots per game. Edmonton is scoring 34.9% of the time on the power play.
