Bruins vs Sharks Prediction

Boston heads to San Jose trying to snap a brutal four-game losing streak. The Bruins dropped the last contest 5-1 against the Vegas Golden Knights, falling to 30-31-9 on the season. San Jose isn’t doing much better, coming off a 3-1 loss to Carolina, which moved the Sharks to 18-42-9. Boston won the previous meeting 6-3 back in January. Hit the ice running with our NHL picks.

Boston’s skid has been ugly, getting outscored 25-9 in the last four games. The offense has vanished outside of David Pastrnak, who leads the team with 34 goals, 50 assists, and 84 points. Jeremy Swayman has had a rough stretch in net, allowing 3.04 goals per game with a .896 save percentage. The Bruins are struggling badly on the power play, converting at just 14.8%, and their penalty kill is barely hanging on at 76.2%.

Defensively, Boston has allowed 3.21 goals per game while getting outshot most nights. Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo have nearly identical .896 save percentages, not enough to carry a team with defensive holes. The Bruins average 27 shots per game while giving up 28.7, and they’ve racked up 715 penalty minutes already.

San Jose hasn’t won back-to-back games since early February and is just 1-4 in its last five. The Sharks were shut down by Carolina in the last outing, generating little offensive pressure. Macklin Celebrini has been the brightest spot with 21 goals and 50 points, and Tyler Toffoli leads the team in goals with 25. This offense ranks near the bottom of the league at 2.58 goals per game.

Defensively, things are even worse for San Jose. They give up 3.68 goals per game and are allowing 31.6 shots per contest. Alexandar Georgiev has started most of the games, but his 3.64 GAA and .875 save percentage have been part of the problem. The Sharks' penalty kill is at just 74.5%, and the defense is thin with Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Jan Rutta, and Henry Thrun all unavailable.

Bruins vs Sharks Pick Analysis

Even though Boston is in a slump, the Sharks are in a worse spot. San Jose’s goaltending is shaky, and the defense is full of holes. David Pastrnak is the best player on the ice by a mile, and with a 6-3 win already over the Sharks this season, Boston has shown it can break through. Expect the Bruins to take advantage of a weak penalty kill and bounce back here. Final Score Prediction: Boston Bruins win 4-2.
