Wizards vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 3/13/2025

The Thursday NBA schedule will tip-off with a rematch between the Washington Wizards and the Detroit Pistons from Little Caesars Arena. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Wizards (13-51) have dropped 25 of their 31 road games and own the worst overall record in the NBA. On Tuesday, Washington missed 26 of 39 three-point attempts and shot just 40 percent overall during a 123-103 road loss against Detroit. 

Veteran G Marcus Smart led five Washington players in double figures with 16 points (6-10 FG) in 21 minutes off the bench. Bub Carrington and Jordan Poole scored 15 points each on a combined 11-for-26 from the floor. Richaun Holmes added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Wizards. 

The Detroit Pistons have won seven of their last ten games and are locked in a four-way tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (37-29) rank tenth in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing a shade below 113 points per contest. During Tuesday’s home victory, Detroit connected on 16-for-38 from long distance and outrebounded Washington by a 61-49 margin. 

All-Star G Cade Cunningham tallied a game-high 27 points (11-23 FG), ten assists, and eight rebounds. Detroit C Jalen Duren contributed 15 points (7-11 FG) and 13 rebounds. Malik Beasley scored 14 points off the bench for the Pistons, who improved to 18-14 at home. 

Washington G Bilal Coulibaly (hip) did not suit up during Tuesday’s loss and is listed as questionable for this game. These two teams got a little chippy in Tuesday’s game and I would expect that to carry over in this one. Take the Wizards to come out strong and cover in the rematch.
