Wizards vs Hawks Picks and Prediction – 11/16/2024

The Wizards (2-8) are in the midst of a six-game losing streak and are surrendering a shade below 124 points per contest. On Wednesday, Washington was unable to slow down Victor Wembanyama (50 pts) during a 139-130 road loss against San Antonio. 

Jordan Poole led six Washington players in double figures with a season-hgh 42 points on a 15-for-22 shooting performance. Corey Kispert added 19 points in 33 minutes off the bench for the Wizards, who connected on 18-for-44 from the three-point line.  

The Atlanta Hawks are a game below .500 at home and locked in a three-way tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Hawks (5-7) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 121.2 points per game. On Tuesday, Atlanta played without Trae Young and pulled off a stunning 117-116 road victory against NBA Champion Boston. 

Dyson Daniels led a balanced Atlanta scoring attack with 28 points (12-21 FG), seven assists, and six steals. Larry Nance Jr. scored 19 points (7-10 FG) in 27 minutes off the bench. Jalen Johnson and Clint Capela added 18 points apiece for the Hawks, who shot 51 percent from the field. 

Atlanta F De’Andre Hunter practiced on Thursday and is expected to return to the lineup for this contest. The Hawks are playing at the fastest tempo in the league and both teams are struggling to get stops. Look for Atlanta to win at home in a game that goes over the total.
