Jazz vs Magic Picks and Prediction – 1/5/2025

Last night, Utah outscored Miami by 21 points in the second quarter and shot 52 percent from the field during a 136-100 road triumph.

Brice Sensabaugh led all scorers with 34 points on a 12-for-18 shooting performance and grabbed seven rebounds. Utah F John Collins contributed 24 points (9-16 FG) and nine rebounds. Collin Sexton added 17 points and eight assists for the Jazz, who dominated the Heat on the glass by a 57-32 margin.

The Orlando Magic have won 13 of their first 17 home games and are sitting in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Magic (21-15) rank third in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 103.4 points per game. On Friday, Orlando raced out to a 13-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 106-97 road victory against lowly Toronto. 

Orlando F Tristan da Silva matched a game-high with 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting and pulled down four boards. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 15 points (6-10 FG) for the Magic, who connected on 19-for-44 from the three-point line. 

Orlando is still playing without starting forwards Paolo Banchero (oblique) and Franz Wagner (oblique). Banchero appears to be closer to a return than Wagner. These two squads rank in the bottom third of the league in offensive efficiency, so the under is worth a look. Take the Magic to win and cover on their home floor.
