Raptors vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 1/12/2025

Little Caesars Arena will play host to a Saturday night NBA clash between the Toronto Raptors and the Detroit Pistons. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Raptors (8-30) have dropped 17 of their first 18 road games and own the second worst overall record in the Eastern Conference. On Thursday, Toronto was outscored by nine points over the final 12 minutes of a 132-126 road loss against Cleveland.

All-Star F Scottie Barnes led seven Toronto players in double figures with 24 points, ten rebounds, and eight assists. Chris Boucher scored 23 points on 9-for-14 shooting in 27 minutes off the bench. R.J. Barrett added 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists for the Raptors. 

The Detroit Pistons have won eight of their previous ten games and are tied with Atlanta for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (19-19) rank 17th in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 113.2 points per contest. On Thursday, Detroit was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 107-104 home loss versus Golden State. 

Detroit G Cade Cunningham tallied a game-high 32 points (12-21 FG) to go along with eight assists and six rebounds. Malik Beasley added 21 points and four rebounds for the Pistons, who were outrebounded by a 49-40 margin. 

Detroit G Jaden Ivey suffered a broken fibula in his left leg and will not be able to return until March at the earliest. The Raptors put forth a nice effort against the red-hot Cavaliers, but will fall flat in this sleepy spot. Take the Pistons to win and cover at home.
