Suns vs Mavericks Picks and Prediction – 3/9/2025

In the second game of a Sunday NBA on ABC doubleheader, the Phoenix Suns will square off against the Dallas Mavericks from the American Airlines Center. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Suns (29-34) have dropped seven of their previous ten games and trail the Mavericks by 2.5 games for tenth place in the Western Conference standings. On Friday, Phoenix allowed host Denver to shoot 59 percent from the field during a 149-141 overtime loss.

Phoenix G Devin Booker tallied a game-high 34 points (10-19 FG), seven assists, and six rebounds. All-Star F Kevin Durant scored 29 points on 10-for-16 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. Nick Richards added 18 points and five boards for the Suns, who fell to 11-21 on the road. 

The Dallas Mavericks reached the NBA Finals last season, but GM Nico Harrison inexplicably traded All-Star G Luka Doncic to the Lakers. The Mavericks (32-32) lost All-Star G Kyrie Irving for the season due to a knee injury and are looking to snap a four-game losing streak. On Friday, Dallas was outscored by 16 points over the final 12 minutes of a 122-111 home loss versus Memphis. 

Brandon Williams matched a game-high with 31 points (10-15 FG) and six assists in 34 minutes off the Dallas bench. Naji Marshall scored 29 points on 10-for-23 shooting and pulled down 17 boards. Klay Thompson added 15 points and four rebounds for the Mavericks, who shot 39 percent from the field. 

Dallas F P.J. Washington (ankle) has been officially ruled out and F Caleb Martin (hip) is listed as questionable for this game.
