Suns vs Hornets Picks and Prediction – 1/8/2025

The Tuesday NBA schedule will tip off with a matchup between the Phoenix Suns and the Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Suns (16-18) are four games below .500 on the road and a game out of tenth place in the Western Conference standings. Last night, Phoenix outscored Philadelphia by 16 points during the second half to claim a 109-99 road victory. 

Bradley Beal tallied a team-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting in 30 minutes off the Phoenix bench. All-Star F Kevin Durant added 23 points (9-14 FG) and six rebounds for the Suns, who shot 51 percent from the field.  

The Charlotte Hornets are in the midst of a ten-game losing streak and own the second worst record in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets (7-27) rank near the bottom of the league in offensive efficiency and are scoring a measly 105.8 points per game. On Sunday, Charlotte trailed by 15 points at halftime and turned the ball over 15 times during a 115-105 road loss against Cleveland. 

LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller led five Charlotte players in double figures with 24 points apiece on a combined 15-for-34 from the field. Nick Smith added 18 points in 19 minutes off the bench for the Hornets, who outrebounded the Cavaliers by a 48-41 margin. 

Phoenix F Royce O’Neale suffered a left ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated later this week. These two teams rank in the bottom third of the league in tempo, so the under is worth a look. The stronger play is on the Hornets to pull off the upset at home. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win 111-107.
