Magic vs Hornets Picks and Prediction – 3/25/2025

The Magic (33-38) are six games below .500 on the road and trail Atlanta by two games for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Last night, Orlando outscored Los Angeles by 16 points during the third quarter of a 118-106 home victory. 

Orlando F Franz Wagner tallied a team-high 32 points (13-26 FG), eight assists, and five rebounds. Former number one overall draft pick Paolo Banchero contributed 30 points (10-12 FT) and seven boards. The Magic connected on 15-for-40 from long distance and shot 49 percent overall.  

The Charlotte Hornets have dropped 25 of their first 36 home games and have been eliminated from postseason contention. The Hornets (18-53) rank near the bottom of the league in offensive efficiency and are averaging an anemic 105.8 points per contest. On Sunday, Charlotte allowed Miami to shoot a sizzling 57 percent from the field during a 122-105 road loss. 

Nick Smith Jr. led five Charlotte players in double figures with 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting. LaMelo Ball scored 18 points (6-19 FG) and dropped 11 dimes. Miles Bridges added 17 points (7-18 FG) and 13 rebounds for the Hornets, who missed 22 of 33 three-point attempts. 

Orlando G Jalen Suggs underwent successful knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. The Magic rank second in the league in defensive efficiency and both teams rank in the bottom third in tempo. Look for Orlando to win on the road in a game that stays under the total.
