Knicks vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 4/27/2025

The third-seeded Knicks hold a 2-1 series lead in this best-of-seven series and are in search of their first conference finals appearance since 2000. In Game Three, New York converted 26 of 29 free-throw attempts and made the plays down the stretch to earn a 118-116 road victory.

All-Star F/C Karl-Anthony Towns led all scorers with 31 points on 10-for-18 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. All-Star G Jalen Brunson contributed 30 points (11-13 FT), nine assists, and seven boards. Mikal Bridges added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks. 

The Detroit Pistons became the first team in NBA history to triple their win total from a season ago and are in search of their first home playoff victory since 2008. The sixth-seeded Pistons are much improved defensively for first year head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and allowed 113.6 points per game during the regular season. During Thursday’s home loss, Detroit connected on 16-of-37 from long range and outrebounded New York by a 43-30 margin.

All-Star G Cade Cunningham continued his stellar play with 24 points (10-25 FG), 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Detroit G Tim Hardaway Jr. knocked down 7-of-12 from the three-point line and finished with 24 points. Dennis Schroder added 18 points and five rebounds off the bench for the Pistons. 

Detroit C Isaiah Stewart missed the last two games with knee inflammation and his status for this contest is uncertain. This series is being played at the second slowest tempo, so the under is worth a look. The stronger play is on the Pistons to even things at two with a home victory.
