Knicks vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 4/24/2025

Little Caesars Arena will be rocking on Thursday night, when the New York Knicks battle the Detroit Pistons in Game Three of their first round series. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The third-seeded Knicks won 24 of 41 road games during the regular season and averaged a shade below 116 points overall. In Game Two, New York missed 25 of 35 three-point attempts and shot 42 percent from the field during a 100-94 home loss. 

All-Star G Jalen Brunson poured in a game-high 37 points on 12-for-27 shooting and dished out seven assists. New York G Mikal Bridges added 19 points (8-18 FG) and five rebounds. All-Star F/C Karl-Anthony Towns was non-existent in the second half and finished with ten points for the Knicks.

The Detroit Pistons had one of the best regular season turnarounds in NBA history and are looking to advance to the second round for the first time since 2008. On Monday, Detroit converted 28 of 34 free-throw attempts and snapped a 15-game playoff losing streak. The sixth-seeded Pistons dominated the Knicks on the glass by a 48-34 margin and shot 45 percent from the field. 

All-Star G Cade Cunningham led four Detroit players in double figures with 33 points (11-21 FG) and 12 rebounds. Dennis Schroder nailed a go-ahead three-pointer in the final minutes and finished with 20 points off the bench. Tobias Harris added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Pistons. 

Detroit C Isaiah Stewart missed Monday’s victory with knee inflammation and his status for this game is uncertain. New York’s bench was outscored 35-8 in Game Two, as Game One hero Cameron Payne was inexplicably left on the bench by head coach Tom Thibodeau.
