Knicks vs Celtics Picks and Prediction – 5/14/2025

In the first game of a Wednesday night NBA on TNT playoff doubleheader, the Knicks will travel to TD Garden to battle the Boston Celtics. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The third-seeded Knicks (3-1) are undefeated through their first five road playoff games and rank fourth this postseason in defensive efficiency. In Game Four, New York stormed back from a 14-point second half deficit to earn a 121-113 home victory. 

All-Star F Jayson Tatum poured in a game-high 42 points on a 16-for-28 shooting performance and grabbed eight rebounds. Derrick White nailed 6-of-11 from long distance and finished with 23 points. Jaylen Brown added 20 points (7-16 FG) and seven boards for the Celtics. 

The Boston Celtics were the favorites to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals and are one loss away from being eliminated. The second-seeded Celtics (1-2) are playing at the second slowest tempo during the playoffs and rank second in defensive efficiency. During Tuesday’s road loss, Boston was outscored 70-51 in the second half and punished on the glass by a 43-31 margin. 

NBA Clutch Player of the Year Jalen Brunson led four New York players in double figures with 39 points (14-25 FG) and 12 assists. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns scored 23 points apiece on a combined 22-for-36 shooting effort. OG Anunoby added 20 points for the Knicks. 

Boston F Jayson Tatum suffered a right foot injury in the final minutes of Tuesday’s loss and is not expected to play in this game. These two teams prefer a slower pace and points will be tough to come by for the Celtics without Tatum. Boston has championship DNA and will find a way to win a game that stays under the total.
