Timberwolves vs Mavericks Picks and Prediction – 1/23/2025

In the first game of a Wednesday night NBA on ESPN doubleheader, the Minnesota Timberwolves will battle the Dallas Mavericks from the American Airlines Center. On Monday, Minnesota was unable to protect an 11-point halftime lead during a 108-106 road loss against Memphis. 

All-Star G Anthony Edwards led all scorers with 32 points on 8-for-19 shooting and pulled down four boards. Naz Reid added 29 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Timberwolves, who missed 29 of 43 three-point attempts.

The Dallas Mavericks have won 13 of their first 21 home games and trail Los Angeles by a half-game for sixth place in the Western Conference standings. The Mavericks (23-20) rank eighth in the league in offensive efficiency and are scoring 115.2 points per contest. On Monday, Dallas missed 26 of 32 three-point attempts during a 110-105 road loss against Charlotte. 

Dallas G Kyrie Irving tallied a game-high 33 points on 11-for-24 from the field and grabbed four rebounds. Daniel Gafford scored 31 points (12-15 FG) to go along with 15 rebounds and seven blocks. P.J. Washington added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks. 

Minnesota G Donte DiVincenzo has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 left big toe sprain and will miss the next several weeks. This is a rematch of the Western Conference Finals and will likely be chippy.
