Grizzlies vs Pelicans Picks and Prediction – 3/9/2025

The Grizzlies (39-24) have lost seven of their last ten games and are two games out of second place in the Western Conference standings. On Friday, Memphis outscored Dallas by 16 points over the final 12 minutes to earn a 122-111 road victory. 

Memphis G Ja Morant matched a game-high with 31 points on 13-for-29 shooting and dropped six dimes. Desmond Bane contributed 27 points (11-24 FG), 16 rebounds, and six assists. Brandon Clarke added 17 points (6-10 FG) and eight rebounds off the bench for the Grizzlies, who outrebounded the Mavericks by a 59-45 margin. 

The New Orleans Pelicans have dropped 20 of their first 31 home games and own the second worst overall record in the Western Conference. The Pelicans (17-47) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering a shade below 120 points per game. Last night, New Orleans gave up 35 plus points in each quarter of an ugly 146-117 road loss against Houston. 

Zion Williamson led seven New Orleans players in double figures with 20 points and finished with a minus 37 rating. Jose Alvarado added 17 points and seven assists off the bench. Veteran G C.J. McCollum scored 17 points for the Pelicans, who missed 21 of 33 three-point attempts. 

Memphis F Jaren Jackson has missed the last couple of games with an ankle injury and will remain sidelined for this contest. The Grizzlies are playing at the fastest tempo in the league and the Pelicans rank 10th in that category. Look for Memphis to cruise on the road with a victory that goes over the total.
