Rockets vs Jazz Picks and Prediction – 2/23/2025

The Rockets (35-21) are six games above .500 on the road and are sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. Last night, Houston erupted for 48 points in the first quarter and shot 50 percent from the field during a 121-115 home victory versus Minnesota. 

Jalen Green led six Houston players in double figures with 35 points (12-24 FG), five rebounds, and four assists. All-Star C Alperen Sengun contributed 24 points (8-10 FT) and 13 rebounds. Amen Thompson added 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for the Rockets.

The Utah Jazz have dropped 19 of their first 25 home games and own the second worst overall record in the Western Conference. The Jazz (13-41) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering a shade below 120 points per contest. Last night, Utah trailed by 21 points at halftime and turned the ball over 19 times during a 130-107 home loss versus Oklahoma City. 

Utah F John Collins led all scorers with 26 points on 11-for-19 from the field. Second-year pro Keyonte George scored 20 points (7-12 FG) and pulled down six boards in 31 minutes off the bench. Jordan Clarkson added 19 points and four rebounds for the Jazz, who were outrebounded by a 51-43 margin. 

Houston G Fred VanVleet (ankle) was unable to suit up last night and is likely to remain sidelined for this contest. Both teams are playing on consecutive nights, so the over is worth a look.
