Pistons vs Raptors Picks and Prediction – 11/16/2024

The Pistons (5-8) are a much improved defensive unit and are allowing 111.8 points per game for first year head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. On Tuesday, Detroit took advantage of visiting Miami’s lapses down the stretch to earn a 123-121 overtime victory. 

Cade Cunningham and Malik Beasley led seven Detroit players in double figures with 21 points each on a combined 13-for-32 shooting effort. Jaden Ivey contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Tobias Harris added 18 points and seven boards for the Pistons. 

The Toronto Raptors are looking to snap a five-game losing streak and own the worst overall record in the NBA. The Raptors (2-10) rank last in the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering 120.8 points per contest. On Wednesday, Toronto trailed by 11 points at halftime and could not recover during a 99-85 road loss against Milwaukee. 

Toronto G Gradey Dick converted 14 of 16 free-throw attempts and finished with a game-high 32 points. Jakob Poeltl added 13 points (6-13 FG) and eight rebounds for the Raptors, who shot a frigid 35 percent from the field. 

Toronto G Immanuel Quickley suffered a partial left elbow tear and will be re-evaluated in one week. The Pistons are the better defensive team by a wide margin and hold the edge on the glass.
