Pistons vs Knicks Picks and Prediction – 4/21/2025

In the first game of a Monday night NBA on TNT playoff doubleheader, the Detroit Pistons will square off against the New York Knicks from Madison Square Garden. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The sixth-seeded Pistons rank tenth in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 115.5 points per contest. In the series opener, Detroit committed 19 turnovers and shot 48 percent from the field during a 123-112 road loss. 

Veteran F Tobias Harris led five Detroit players in double figures with 25 points (8-13 FG) and six rebounds. All-Star G Cade Cunningham scored 21 points (8-21 FG) to go along with 12 assists and six boards. Malik Beasley added 20 points off the bench for the Pistons, who connected on 15-of-32 from long distance. 

The New York Knicks won 27 of their 41 home games and are looking to make their first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000. The third-seeded Knicks rank fifth in the league in offensive efficiency and are scoring a shade below 116 points per game. On Saturday, New York used a 21-0 fourth quarter run to erase an eight-point deficit. 

All-Star G Jalen Brunson tallied a game-high 34 points on 12-for-27 shooting and dished out eight assists. OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 23 points apiece on a combined 18-for-32 from the floor. Cameron Payne added 14 points in 15 minutes off the bench for the Knicks, who shot 53 percent overall. 

Detroit C Isaiah Stewart exited Saturday’s loss with a knee injury and his status for this game is uncertain. The Pistons were effective being physical with Brunson in the first half and they will continue that strategy as the series progresses. Look for the Knicks to do just enough down the stretch to win an ugly game that stays under the total. Final Score Prediction, New York Knicks win 110-104.
