Pistons vs Hornets Picks and Prediction – 11/7/2024

The Pistons (3-5) have split their first four road games and rank 16th in the league in defensive efficiency for first year head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. On Monday, Detroit raced out to an 11-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 115-103 home victory versus Los Angeles. 

Jaden Ivey led six Detroit players in double figures with 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting. Former number one overall draft pick Cade Cunningham contributed 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Tobias Harris added 15 points and seven boards for the Pistons, who dominated the Lakers on the glass by a 55-37 margin.

The Charlotte Hornets are looking to snap a three-game losing streak and need to improve on the defensive end of the floor. The Hornets (2-5) currently rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering 118.3 points per game for rookie head coach Charles Lee. On Monday, Charlotte shot an ice cold 40 percent from the field during a 114-93 road loss against Minnesota. 

Charlotte G LaMelo Ball tallied a team-high 19 points on 6-for-15 shooting and committed five turnovers. Miles Bridges added ten points (4-13 FG) and six rebounds for the Hornets, who missed 32 of 42 three-point attempts. 

Detroit F Ausar Thompson (illness) remained sidelined for Monday’s victory and his status for this game is uncertain. The Pistons have shown plenty of improvement through the early part of the season, but consistency remains an issue. Take the Hornets to win at home.
