Mavericks vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 2/1/2025

On Wednesday, Dallas erupted for 80 points during the second half of a 137-136 road victory against New Orleans.

Kyrie Irving and P.J. Washington led Dallas with 25 points each on a combined 20-for-41 shooting effort. Daniel Gafford contributed 22 points (9-9 FG), 12 rebounds, and four blocks. Klay Thompson added 20 points and four boards for the Mavericks, who connected on 20-for-43 from the three-point line. 

The Detroit Pistons are looking to snap a three-game losing streak and are a half-game out of sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (23-24) rank in the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency and are giving up 113.5 points per game for first year head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. On Wednesday, Detroit allowed Indiana to shoot a sizzling 57 percent from the field during a 133-119 road loss. 

Cade Cunningham led five Detroit players in double figures with 32 points (12-22 FG), nine assists, and five rebounds. Malik Beasley knocked down 6-for-10 from long distance and finished with 20 points. Tobias Harris added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons. 

Dallas G Luka Doncic has been sidelined since Christmas with a left calf strain and is nearing a return. The Mavericks rank seventh in the league in offensive efficiency and the Pistons have not been playing well over the last week. Take Dallas to win on the road.
