Cavaliers vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 2/6/2025

Little Caesars Arena will play host to a Wednesday night NBA clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Cavaliers (40-10) have dropped five of their last 11 games and still hold a 4.5 game cushion for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Last night, Cleveland missed 28 of 39 three-point attempts and fell behind by as many as 20 points during a 112-105 home loss versus Boston. 

All-Star G Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 31 points (12-25 FG), ten rebounds, and six assists. All-Star G Darius Garland scored 25 points on 8-for-20 from the field. Jarrett Allen added 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who fell to 24-3 at home. 

The Detroit Pistons have split their first 24 home games and trail Miami by a half-game for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (25-25) rank 13th in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 113.7 points per contest. On Monday, Detroit missed 18 of 27 three-point attempts during a 132-130 home loss versus Atlanta. 

All-Star G Cade Cunningham tallied a team-high 30 points (13-13 FT), 14 assists, and six rebounds. Detroit F Tobias Harris chipped in 22 points (8-13 FG) and four boards. Jalen Duren added 18 points and nine rebounds for the Pistons, who converted 35 of 38 from the free-throw line.

Detroit G Jaden Ivey is progressing nicely from a lower leg injury, but remains without an official timetable to return. The Cavaliers have begun to come back to earth after their torrid start to the season. The Pistons continue to fly under the radar and will pull off the upset at home.
