Hornets vs Heat Picks and Prediction – 3/23/2025

Southeast Division foes will battle on Sunday night, when the Charlotte Hornets travel to the Kaseya Center to face the Miami Heat. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Hornets (18-52) have dropped 27 of their first 34 road games and own the second worst overall record in the Eastern Conference. On Friday, Charlotte fell behind by 20 points after one quarter and allowed Oklahoma City to shoot 57 percent from the field during an ugly 141-106 road loss. 

Miles Bridges led seven Charlotte players in double figures with 20 points (5-12 FG) and four assists. Nick Smith Jr. scored 14 points on 5-for-14 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench. K.J. Simpson added ten points and eight assists for the Hornets, who connected on 19-for-41 from the three-point line. 

The Miami Heat are in the midst of a ten-game losing streak and have plummeted to tenth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The losing streak is the longest of head coach Erik Spoelstra’s career and the Heat (29-41) are allowing 110.7 points per contest. On Friday, Miami was limited to 39 points during the second half of a 102-98 home loss versus Houston. 

Miami F Andrew Wiggins scored a team-high 30 points on a 10-for-13 shooting performance. Kel’el Ware tallied 16 points (7-10 FG) to go along with 14 rebounds and two blocks. Bam Adebayo added 16 points, six assists, and six boards for the Heat. 

Charlotte G LaMelo Ball (rest) and C Mark Williams (foot) did not play during Friday’s loss. Both are listed as day-to-day. These two teams rank in the bottom third of the league in tempo and offensive efficiency, so we could be in for a low scoring affair. Take the Heat to break through with a much needed home victory.
