Hornets vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 1/4/2025

The Hornets (7-25) are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak and own the second worst record in the Eastern Conference. On Monday, Charlotte missed 33 of 43 three-point attempts during a 115-108 overtime loss versus visiting Chicago. 

Charlotte F Miles Bridges tallied a game-high 31 points (2-13 3 PT), 12 rebounds, and eight assists. C Mark Williams converted all nine field goal attempts and finished with 20 points. Josh Green added 14 points and six rebounds for the Hornets. 

The Detroit Pistons have won six of their last ten games and trail Indiana by a half-game for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (15-18) rank 17th in the league in offensive efficiency and are scoring a shade below 115 points per game. On Wednesday, Detroit built a 16-point halftime lead and cruised to a 105-96 home victory versus Orlando. 

All five Detroit starters scored in double figures and were led by Jaden Ivey with 22 points. Former number one overall draft pick Cade Cunningham contributed 19 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. Jalen Duren added 18 points and 11 boards for the Pistons, who dominated the Magic on the glass by a 49-33 margin. 

Detroit G Jaden Ivey suffered a broken fibula in his left leg and will miss the next couple of months. The Pistons have been playing well at home and have more firepower on offense.
