Nets vs Wizards Picks and Prediction – 3/29/2025

A battle of lottery teams will take place on Saturday night, when the Brooklyn Nets visit the nation’s capital to face the Washington Wizards. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Nets have dropped 26 of their first 38 road games and have been eliminated from postseason contention. Brooklyn has continued to play hard for rookie head coach Jordy Fernandez and has plenty of draft capital over the next few seasons. 

Cameron Johnson ranks second on the team in scoring at 18.9 ppg and is an established piece that will be part of Brooklyn’s rebuild. The jury is still out on the future of D’Angelo Rusell, who is averaging 13.5 ppg and 5.7 apg. Nic Claxton leads the Nets in rebounding (7.6) and blocked shots (1.5). 

The Washington Wizards have dropped 28 of their first 35 home games and own the worst overall record in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards (16-57) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering 121 points per game. On Thursday, Washington was torched for 83 points during the first half of a 162-109 home loss versus Indiana. 

Number two overall draft pick Alex Sarr led five Washington players in double figures with 22 points (8-15 FG) and seven rebounds. Jordan Poole nailed half of his eight three-point attempts and finished with 18 points. Justin Champganie added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Wizards, who were dominated on the glass by a 50-31 margin.

Brooklyn leading scorer Cam Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and will miss the rest of the season. The Nets are the better defensive team and the Wizards are offering no resistance on the defensive end of the floor. Take Brooklyn to win on the road.
