Nets vs Thunder Picks and Prediction – 1/20/2025

The Paycom Center will play host to a Sunday night NBA clash between the Brooklyn Nets and the Oklahoma City Thunder. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Nets (14-28) have dropped eight of their previous ten games and are in the midst of a long rebuilding effort. On Friday, Brooklyn committed 17 turnovers and was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 102-101 road loss against Los Angeles. 

Brooklyn G D’Angelo Russell scored 19 points against his former team to go along with eight assists and six rebounds. Ziaire Williams and Tosan Evbuomwan added 15 points apiece for the Nets, who connected on 17-for-38 from the three-point line. 

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won 18 of their first 20 home games and are sitting comfortably atop the Western Conference standings. The Thunder (34-7) lead the league in defensive efficiency and are limiting the opposition to 103.7 points per contest. On Friday, Oklahoma City was outscored by 24 points during the second quarter of a 106-98 road loss against Dallas. 

All five Oklahoma City starters scored in double figures and were led by Jalen Williams with 19 points. Lu Dort knocked down 6-for-8 from long distance and finished with 18 points. Jaylin Williams added 12 points and ten rebounds for the Thunder, who shot an ice cold 39 percent from the field. 

Oklahoma City G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sat out Friday’s loss with a wrist strain and is listed as day-to-day. The Thunder are missing big men Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) and Chet Holmgren (hip).
