Celtics vs Magic Picks and Prediction – 4/27/2025

In the first game of a Sunday night NBA on TNT playoff doubleheader, the Boston Celtics will square off against the Orlando Magic from the Kia Center. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The second-seeded Celtics (2-1) led the league with 33 road victories during the regular season and averaged 116.3 points per game overall. In Game Three, Boston missed 18 of 27 three-point attempts and turned the ball over 19 times during a 95-93 road loss.

All-Star F Jayson Tatum poured in a game-high 36 points on 10-for-22 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. All-Star G Jaylen Brown made half of his 14 field goal attempts and finished with 19 points. Derrick White added 16 points and five assists for the Celtics. 

The Orlando Magic won 22 of 41 home games during the regular season and are looking to advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2010. During Friday’s home victory, Orlando erased an eight-point halftime deficit by outscoring Boston 24-11 in the third quarter. The seventh-seeded Magic (1-2) converted 19 of 26 free-throw attempts and shot 41 percent from the field.

Orlando F Franz Wagner tallied a team-high 32 points (11-27 FG), eight assists, and seven rebounds. Former number one overall draft pick Paolo Banchero contributed 29 points on 10-for-25 shooting and pulled down six boards. Wendell Carter Jr. added ten points and 12 rebounds for the Magic. 

Boston G Jrue Holiday did not suit up for Friday’s loss due to a hamstring injury and is listed as day-to-day. The Celtics dropped three games during last season’s title run and bounced back with victories by an average of 17 points in the following contest.
