Hawks vs Magic Picks and Prediction – 4/8/2025

The Hawks (37-41) are four games below .500 on the road and hold a one game lead over Chicago for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Sunday, Atlanta raced out to a 13-point advantage after one quarter and cruised to a 147-134 home victory versus lowly Utah. 

Onyeka Okongwu led seven Atlanta players in double figures with 27 points (12-18 FG) and 12 rebounds. All-Star G Trae Young contributed 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting and dished out 16 assists. Caris LeVert added 21 points and six assists off the bench for the Hawks, who connected on 22-for-41 from long range. 

The Orlando Magic have won seven of their last ten games and are sitting one game ahead of Atlanta for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Magic (38-40) rank second in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 105.6 points per contest. On Thursday, Orlando built a 16-point halftime advantage and coasted to a 109-97 road triumph versus Washington. 

Former number one overall draft pick Paolo Banchero tallied a game-high 33 points, 18 rebounds, and eight assists. Orlando F Franz Wagner chipped in 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 13 points and five assists for the Magic, who converted 22 of 25 free-throw attempts. 

Orlando G Jalen Suggs underwent successful knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. The Magic are the superior defensive team and do a better job taking care of the ball.
