Hawks vs Pistons Picks and Prediction – 2/4/2025

The Hawks (22-27) are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak and are clinging to a one-game lead over Chicago for ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Saturday, Atlanta allowed Indiana to shoot 54 percent from the field during a 132-127 road loss.

Atlanta G Trae Young led all scorers with 34 points on 11-for-26 shooting and dished out 17 assists. Dyson Daniels scored 23 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Onyeka Okongwu added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who fell to 11-16 on the road. 

The Detroit Pistons are a game above .500 at home and are tied with Miami for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pistons (25-24) rank 13th in the league in defensive efficiency and are allowing 113.2 points per game. On Sunday, Detroit outscored Chicago by 15 points during the second quarter and cruised to a 127-119 home victory. 

All-Star G Cade Cunningham matched a game-high with 22 points on 10-for-23 shooting and dropped 15 dimes. Detroit C Jalen Duren contributed 21 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists. Malik Beasley added 19 points off the bench for the Pistons, who shot 55 percent from the field. 

Atlanta F Jalen Johnson suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the remainder of the season. Despite being pretty evenly matched statistically, these two squads are headed in opposite directions. Take the hotter Pistons to win and cover at home.
