Nationals vs Pirates Picks and Prediction – 4/14/2025

On Sunday, Pittsburgh batters were limited to two hits and struck out nine times during a 4-0 road loss against Cincinnati. SP Carmen Mlodzinski (1-2) gave up four runs in four plus innings and took the loss for the Pirates (5-11), who fell to 2-8 on the road. 

National League Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes (1-1 3.44 ERA) is off to a solid start for the Pirates. Through 18 plus innings, Skenes has yet to allow a home run and struck out 20 batters while posting a minuscule 0.83 WHIP.

Pittsburgh SP Jared Jones (elbow) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list and is not expected to make his season debut until July. Through 15 games, Washington ranked 16th in OPS and 12th in runs scored. For the regular season, Pittsburgh ranked 30th in OPS and 24th in runs scored. Take the under.
