The Rockesi won a sereies off the Giants, but dropped the last game of the series and weren’t able to complete the sweep, they dropped to 53-70 with the loss.
Colorado is one of the best offenses in the league when in the altitude of Colorado, they’re leading the league with 5.70 runs per game on their home field. First baseman CJ Cron has led that charge with a fantastic season, leading the team with 23 home runs and 80 RBIs. The injuries to Kris Bryant have been impactful and this Rockies team is going to miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
The right-handed German Marquez will get the start for the Rockies, he’s had his fair share of struggles this seaosn going 6-10 with a 5.05 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. It would be the worst season of his career. Marquez had a decent last outing allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings of work, but the Rockies scored just one run and lost the Cardinals 5-1.
Texas has a couple of players that have performed up-to-par this season and the offense is in the top half of the MLB scoring 4.45 runs per game, which ranks 13th in scoring offense. Shortstop Corey Seager, who the Rangers in the offseason, leads the team with 26 home runs and has driven in 61 runs this year. Outfielder Adolis Garcia has continued to produce and leads the team with 75 RBIs.
The right-handed Dane Dunning will get the ball for the Rangers and the 27-year-old continues to improve in year 3. Dunning is 3-6 with a 4.06 ERA, and the Rangers have got a win in his last four starts. Dunning’s main issue is the walks, he’s walked 50 batters compared to striking out 108. He allowed two runs on four hits in his last start, but continued to struggle with the walks, and the Rangers went on to beat the A’s 10-3.
