Oakland will stay at home Tuesday as the worst team in baseball nearly 60 games under .500 on a three-game skid. Paul Blackburn will take the mound Tuesday night for Oakland making his 19th start in 20th appearance on the year. Blackburn has been atrocious this season allowing 47 runs in 95.2 innings of work resulting in a 4.14 ERA. At home Blackburn has been terrible giving up twenty runs in 48 innings across nine outings.
The Oakland offense has been a bottom feeder in the league with a .224 team average as the Athletics have scored just 545 total runs this season. Esteury Ruiz is the offensive leader for Oakland this season with a .249 batting average to go along with a .303 OBP. Brent Rooker has been the power for the Athletics leading the team with 26 home runs and sixty RBIs.
