Rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe (4-1 4.06 ERA) will make his tenth career major league start for the Tigers. Control has been an issue for Jobe, who has walked 24 batters and surrendered six long balls through 44 plus innings. 

San Francisco SP Justin Verlander has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right pectoral soreness. Through 55 games, San Francisco ranks 20th in OPS and 10th in runs scored.
