The Blue Jays will counter with scuffling left-hander Bowden Francis (2-6 5.63 ERA) on Thursday. Toronto has dropped four of Francis’ last five starts and he has surrendered 21 runs across his last 23 frames. 

San Diego SP Yu Darvish is currently sidelined with an elbow injury and could return as soon as next week. Through 47 games, San Diego ranks 12th in OPS and 16th in runs scored.
