With a 78-64 record, the San Diego Padres are in a fight for a National League Wild Card birth. The Padres head to the desert to battle the surging Arizona Diamondbacks. Manny Machado has had another solid season for the Padres. Machado leads the team in all triple crown categories, and is batting .302 with 28 home runs and 90 RBI's. The Padres are only batting .240 as a team and have struggled offensively this season. Juan Soto is only batting .212 since coming over from the Nationals. To make a dent in the postseason, the Padres will need greater offensive production all around.

While he has struggled to hit for average, .235, Christian Walker has managed to hit 32 home runs and bat in 79 runs for the Diamondbacks.
