Pittsburgh was up and down this spring after losing three of the last five games overall before a 1 run win against the Toronto Blue Jays. Mitch Keller will get the start for Pittsburgh in game one of the regular season on Thursday. Keller had thirteen wins overall last year and a 4.21 ERA to go along with 210 total strike outs. Ke’Bryan Hayes will be depended on heavily again this season by Pittsburgh after leading the team with a .271 batting average across the 123 games played. Bryan Reynolds boasted a .263 batting average and led the way last season with 84 RBIs in 151 hits. Jack Suwinski is also back for Pittsburgh this season after leading the team with 26 home runs and a .339 OBP in 2023.

Jesus Luzardo will be tasked on the mound in game one of the season Thursday from Miami. Luzardo split last year with ten wins and 10 losses and a 3.63 ERA to go along with 208 total strikeouts. Luzardo faltered a bit over his last two outings of the year giving up four runs on twelve hits in just over 11 total innings resulting in two losses.

Miami found a ton of success a year ago finishing the regular season with 84 wins overall. The Marlins season did come to an end abruptly in the playoff after dropping both Wild Card games resulting in an elimination to the Philadelphia Phillies.
