San Francisco skipper Bob Melvin will give the nod to three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (0-6 4.84 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 70 plus innings, Verlander has fanned 60 batters and owns a subpar 1.44 WHIP.

Philadelphia SP Aaron Nola (ankle) threw a bullpen session on Sunday and plans to return after the All-Star break. Through 92 games, Philadelphia ranks 10th in OPS and 11th in runs scored.
