Phillies vs Twins Picks and Prediction – 7/24/2024

In Wednesday afternoon MLB interleague action, the Philadelphia Phillies will square off against the Minnesota Twins from Target Field. Last night, Nick Castellanos delivered a two-run double as Philadelphia scored all of their runs in the ninth inning of a 3-0 road victory against Minnesota. 

Thirty-one year old righty Aaron Nola (11-4 3.54 ERA) will head to the hill for the Phillies in this contest. Nola, who was an All-Star snub, has struck out 120 batters and owns a sparkling 1.04 WHIP through 124 plus innings. 

The Minnesota Twins have dropped six of their previous ten games and trail AL Central Division leading Cleveland by five games. During Tuesday’s home loss, Minnesota batters left eight men on base and were retired by strikes 11 times. SP Simeon Woods Richardson allowed three hits across six scoreless frames and did not factor in the decision for the Twins (55-45), who fell to 28-21 at home. 

Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli has not announced a pitcher for the series finale. The Twins currently rank 19th in the majors with a 4.12 ERA and have notched 39 quality starts.
