Yankees vs Tigers Picks and Prediction – 4/7/2025

The Detroit Tigers are fresh off a weekend sweep against Chicago and are the only team in the AL Central Division with a winning record. On Sunday, 1B Spencer Torkelson came through with a walk off two-run double in the ninth inning to give Detroit a 4-3 home victory. Javier Baez went 3-for-4 and drove in a run for the Tigers, who improved to 3-1 at home.  

The Tigers will counter with former number one overall draft pick Casey Mize (1-0 0.00 ERA) on Monday. In his first start of the year, Mize (5.2 IP) allowed just one hit and fanned six batters during a 4-1 road victory against Seattle. 

New York DH Giancarlo Stanton (elbow) has been taking swings indoors and is expected to return to the lineup in early June. Through nine games, New York ranked 1st in OPS and 1st in runs scored.
