During yesterday’s home loss, Washington batters had just two at-bats with runners in scoring position and were retired by strikes ten times. SP Brad Lord (0-3) gave up two runs in four innings and took the loss for the Nationals, who fell to 12-15 overall.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Mitchell Parker (3-1 1.39 ERA) has quietly been pitching well for the Nationals. In his last start, Parker lasted eight innings and allowed just one hit during a 7-0 home victory versus Baltimore. 

New York SP Sean Manaea (oblique) has resumed playing catch and hopes to make his season debut around the beginning of June. Through 27 games, New York ranks 16th in OPS and 17th in runs scored.
