Mets vs Nationals Prediction

In Friday night MLB action, the New York Mets will invade the nation’s capital to face the Washington Nationals. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Mets (18-7) are riding a seven-game winning streak and own the best record in the majors. On Wednesday, Starling Marte delivered a walk-off single in the tenth inning to lift New York to a 4-3 home victory versus Philadelphia. Pete Alonso tied the game with an RBI double and scored the winning run for the Mets.

Thirty-two year old righty Kodai Senga (3-1 0.79 ERA) will head to the hill for the Mets in this contest. New York has won Senga’s last three starts by a 13-0 combined score and he has struck out 12 batters across his last 17 plus frames.

The Washington Nationals have split their previous ten games and are seven games off the pace in the NL East Division race. Last night, Washington batters were limited to five hits and left five men on base during a 2-1 home loss versus Baltimore. SP MacKenzie Gore (2-3) gave up two runs in six innings and was the hard luck loser for the Nationals (11-14), who fell to 7-5 at home.

Washington manager Dave Martinez will give the nod to twenty-eight year old righty Jake Irvin (2-0 3.68 ERA) on Friday. Last time out, Irvin (6.2 IP) allowed two runs and fanned nine batters during a 3-2 road victory against Colorado.
