Last night, St. Louis batters left nine men on base and struck out ten times during an ugly 8-0 home loss versus lowly Oakland. SP Matthew Liberatore (2-5) gave up six runs in four plus innings and took the loss for the Cardinals, who fell to 54-67 on the year.

Forty-one year old righty Adam Wainwright (3-7 8.78 ERA) will head to the hill for the Cardinals in this contest. In his last start, Wainwright was tagged for eight runs and recorded just three outs during a 12-8 road loss against Kansas City.
