The Minnesota Twins will be on the road in Kansas City Thursday afternoon for an opening day matchup against the Kansas City Royals. Offensively Minnesota will rely on a few familiar faces from last season as Royce Lewis led the team with a .309 batting average but played in just 58 games overall last season. Max Kepler provided a ton of pop for Minnesota leading the team with 24 home runs and 66 RBIs a year ago.

The Kansas City Royals come into the regular season with a few things left to figure out after a mediocre spring. Kansas City wrapped spring training with two losses in their final five games, while the other three finished in ties. Bobby Witt Jr. thrived this spring for Kansas City with a .360 batting average an 18 hits through 16 games played. Nick Prado led the way with four home runs and 13 RBIs overall.

Cole Ragans will take the mound Thursday for Kansas City to start the new season. Ragans was mediocre a year ago with seven wins and five losses going along with a 3.47 ERA. Ragans did finish the season well with two wins over his last four outings after giving up 13 runs across 25 innings.
