Twins vs Guardians Picks and Prediction – 4/28/2025

AL Central Division foes will square off on Monday night, when the Minnesota Twins invade Progressive Field to take on the Cleveland Guardians. On Sunday, SP Joe Ryan (2-2) fanned 11 batters across seven shutout frames to lead Minnesota to a 5-0 home victory versus Los Angeles.  

Twenty-nine year old righty Bailey Ober (2-1 5.04 ERA) will take the mound for the Twins in this matchup. In his last start, Ober (6 IP) worked around eight hits and limited Chicago to one run during a 4-2 home victory. 

The Cleveland Guardians have won eight of their first 12 home games and trail division leading Detroit by 2.5 games. On Sunday, Cleveland SP Logan Allen (1-2) was tagged for seven runs in four plus innings during an ugly 13-3 home loss versus Boston. OF Nolan Jones crushed a three-run shot to provide the only offense for the Guardians, who fell to 15-12 on the year.

The Guardians will counter with twenty-five year old righty Gavin Williams (2-1 4.15 ERA) on Monday. Through 26 innings of work, Williams has allowed four home runs and fanned 26 batters while posting a 1.35 WHIP.

Minnesota 3B Royce Lewis (hamstring) is on a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul and is expected to rejoin the club early next month. Through 28 games, Minnesota ranks 23rd in OPS and 22nd in runs scored. For the season, Cleveland ranks 19th in OPS and 20th in runs scored. Take the Guardians to win at home.
