Twins vs White Sox Picks and Prediction – 7/10/2024

On Monday, OF Byron Buxton doubled twice as part of a three-hit night and scored twice to spark Minnesota to an 8-6 road victory against Chicago in 11 innings. 

Minnesota righty Pablo Lopez (8-7 5.18 ERA) is showing signs of turning things around during the second half of the season. Despite a high ERA, Lopez has struck out 116 batters and owns a solid 1.19 WHIP across 99 frames. 

The Chicago White Sox have dropped 30 of their first 46 home games and own the worst overall record in the majors. During Monday’s home loss, Chicago batters went 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 2B Nicky Lopez had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for the White Sox, who fell to 26-67 overall.

Rookie right-hander Drew Thorpe (3-1 3.71 ERA) will make his sixth career major league start for the White Sox. Chicago has won Thorpe’s previous three outings and he has allowed just three runs over his last 18 plus innings.
