Marlins vs Rays Picks and Prediction – 6/6/2025

The Friday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Miami Marlins and the Tampa Bay Rays from Steinbrenner Field. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Marlins (23-37) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak and are struck in the NL East Division basement. On Wednesday, Miami OF Heriberto Hernandez went 2-for-3 with an RBI during a 3-2 home loss versus Colorado. 

Twenty-seven year old righty Edward Cabrera (2-1 4.14 ERA) will make his tenth start of the year. The Marlins have won Cabrera’s last four starts and he has allowed four runs over his last 21 plus innings. 

The Tampa Bay Rays are two games above .500 at home and trail AL East Division leading New York by 5.5 games. Last night, 3B Junior Caminero hit a solo shot and scored the winning run in the ninth inning to lift Tampa Bay to a 4-3 home victory versus Texas. SS Taylor Walls went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for the Rays, who improved to 33-29 overall. 

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash will turn to righty Zack Littell (5-5 3.86 ERA) in the series opener. Tampa Bay has been victorious in Littell’s previous seven starts and he is coming off a complete effort on Saturday.  

Tampa Bay SP Shane McClanahan (triceps) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday and hopes to return by the end of the month. Through 60 games, Miami ranks 21st in OPS and 23rd in runs scored. For the season, Tampa Bay ranks 16th in OPS and 13th in runs scored. Take the Marlins to win on the road. Final Score Prediction, Miami Marlins win 6-3.
